Seasoned film producers want new generations to learn the old ways of doing business in the film industry. In their mind, there is only one way to make business happen, but let’s face it: They didn’t grow up with technology at their hands—a phone, a computer, or Google that can tell you everything.
This business model has been around for at least 60 years. It’s not your fault you want to do business like the experienced people in the industry, but 60 years ago, the internet wasn’t around, and neither was all the technology we have at our disposal right now.
With one click, we can find the contact, the film distributor, the sales agent, or an investor.
The problem here is how do I approach them so they listen to me?
If everything is changing in the industry, why do we need to do business the same way?
I know producing a film was difficult before. The cameras were enormous, there was only one way to watch a film, and filmmakers didn’t have a lot of competition like they do now.
We can make our film a success in so many ways, but there are gatekeepers that we can not pass on. This is why I have created a place where you learn how to use technology to your advantage and learn the old ways of thinking in the industry.
Next time you see yourself selling your film, you could be doing it in a film market or via Zoom; the best part is that you will have everything ready if they ask you for a specific document.
If you want to make it in this industry, create your own opportunities, sell your own films, and get great at marketing, not only for this but for the many films you will bring to life in the future.
Isn’t it better to go ahead and make things different? Find new ways of making it happen.
This is exactly what I teach and share with you inside Filmpreneurship Network: how to profit from your films and how to make it in the film industry.
