I know you have a good intention to promote your film, and nobody taught you marketing or promotion. You are doing your best, but you don’t know what you don’t know, right?
Marketing is only a tiny piece of the puzzle when you want to sell and make money with your film. This is why it is critical you understand or even learn this skill.
Trying everything and not achieving what you want when promoting your film only leads to frustration, sadness, and disappointment because you don’t know what you’re doing with your marketing.
There are many other things to consider when marketing, but today, I want to share 5 mistakes I see in almost every filmmaker.
1. Starting your marketing campaign too late. Your film is about to release, and you haven’t done any marketing, and 3 weeks is not enough time to create awareness.
2. Posting on social media like crazy for a few days and then silence. You get into a panic attack, and you want to make things happen, but you burn out after trying.
3. Not having a marketing plan in place. This means they haven’t gathered the ideas in marketing actions to promote their field, which only leads to chaos.
4. Not having a social media plan. This means you don’t know what content you want to post when you are posting and how many times a week.
5. Not being consistent. This means you promote your film today but then stop for several days. Then you feel guilty, promote it again, and your marketing is on and off.
Marketing and posting are habits, and not having a plan and rushing to implement every marketing idea will not give you the results you are looking for.
Better to have a marketing plan in place, and I am here to help you.
Now, you know five things to avoid when marketing, but there are so many things you need to know when promoting your film.
